Paradaxian  2021 Honours Project
Designed in two parts, Game & Explain, Paradaxian is a tool that aims to answer the question- ‘How can interactive design inform young people to build a better understanding and recognise the process of radicalisation’.

Game
In the ‘game’ portion of the tool, young people can play through a fantasy narrative- Paradaxian. The game is constructed with radicalising rhetoric and tactics (e.g. echochambers, confirmation bias, language shifts.) Upon playing through, players are confronted with one of two results- either their character did become radicalised in game, or the player picked up on the rhetoric and avoided radicalisation. Either way, players can then be taken to the explain portion of the tool.

Explain
Here, radicalisation gets explained using the example of Paradaxian- the game players just went through. It details how radicalising tactics and rhetoric were used in the game. From there, players can also learn more about radicalisation and its real life applications.
